Terms of service

Terms for HaulFare's website, estimates, free tools and referral service: how quote requests are shared, who handles transport, claims and arbitration.

Updated September 28, 2026

Version 2026-09-28. These terms apply when you use https://www.haulfare.com or ask HaulFare ("HaulFare", "we") to refer a quote request. You accept them by submitting our quote form (the form says so above the button).

1. Who we are

HaulFare is a car shipping price guide and referral service. We are not a broker or a motor carrier, we hold no FMCSA operating authority, and we do not arrange, book, price or perform vehicle transport. When you request a quote, we send your request to our licensed transport partner, an FMCSA-licensed auto transport broker (the "transport partner"). The transport partner is responsible for its quotes, bookings, carrier selection, payments and service under its own terms. HaulFare receives a referral fee from the transport partner; you pay HaulFare nothing.

2. Estimates and tools

Prices on this site, in the calculators and in the quote form are estimates from our published pricing model. They are information, not offers, and they do not bind the transport partner or any carrier; the transport partner sets the actual price. The free tools are for planning; FMCSA data in the verifier comes from FMCSA systems and may lag official records.

3. Quote requests and how we share them

Submitting the quote form asks us to share the details you enter (name, phone, email, pickup and delivery ZIP codes, vehicle, dates and any notes) with the transport partner so it can contact you about your request. We send each request to one company only and do not sell it to anyone else. Any booking, deposit, payment, cancellation or refund is between you and the transport partner or the carrier, under their terms. We never take payment for transport.

4. Cancellation and refunds

HaulFare charges you nothing, so there is nothing for us to cancel or refund. If you book transport, the transport partner's terms govern cancellations and refunds; read them before you approve a booking. You can ask us at any time to stop referring or contacting you (section 8).

5. Pickup, delivery and the Bill of Lading

If you book, the carrier's Bill of Lading is the contract of carriage and the inspection record. You or your representative (18 or older) should be present at pickup and delivery, inspect the vehicle, and note any damage before signing; damage not noted at delivery is hard to recover. Personal items left in the vehicle travel at your own risk.

6. Claims

Transit damage claims are made against the carrier's cargo insurance, through the transport partner, under their terms and the federal claims rules in 49 CFR Part 370. HaulFare is not a party to the transport and is not an insurer. If you tell us about a problem, we will pass it to the transport partner, but we cannot decide or guarantee the outcome.

7. Your responsibilities

Enter accurate details in your request (vehicle, whether it runs, ZIP codes, dates and contact information) and only request quotes for vehicles you are entitled to ship. Do not submit requests on someone else's behalf without their permission.

8. Communications

Calls and texts follow the consent you give on our forms (optional) and our Privacy Policy and Consent page. You can revoke consent any time by any reasonable means, including at haulfare.com/opt-out; we pass revocations to the transport partner.

9. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, the website, estimates and tools are provided "as is", HaulFare is not responsible for the acts or omissions of the transport partner or any carrier, and HaulFare's total liability for any claim about the website or the referral is limited to $100. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under law that cannot be waived.

10. Content

Site content, data and tools belong to HaulFare. You may quote or link to them with attribution; Cost Index data is licensed CC BY 4.0. Automated scraping for commercial republication is not allowed; search engines and AI assistants may index and cite the site. Photos are used under the licences listed on the image credits page.

11. Arbitration agreement and class-action waiver

Please read this section carefully. It affects your rights. You and HaulFare agree to resolve any dispute arising out of or relating to these terms, the website, our communications with you, or the referral of your request by binding individual arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association under its Consumer Arbitration Rules, except that either party may bring an individual claim in small-claims court. The arbitrator, not a court, decides questions about the scope, validity and enforceability of this agreement. Disputes with the transport partner or a carrier are governed by their terms.

Class-action waiver. Claims may be brought only on an individual basis, not as a plaintiff or class member in any class, collective or representative proceeding, and the arbitrator may not consolidate claims.

30-day opt-out. You may opt out of this arbitration agreement by emailing quotes@haulfare.com with the subject "Arbitration opt-out" and your name, phone and email within 30 days of first accepting these terms. Opting out does not affect any other part of these terms.

Before filing, send a written description of the dispute to quotes@haulfare.com; we will try to resolve it within 30 days. These terms are governed by the Federal Arbitration Act and, otherwise, the laws of the State of Florida.

12. Changes

We may update these terms; the version above will change. Changes apply to requests made after the change. Contact: quotes@haulfare.com.
