About HaulFare
HaulFare is an independent car shipping price guide and referral service. We publish route prices, the formula behind every estimate, free tools and guides. When you ask for a quote, we send your request to our licensed transport partner, an FMCSA-licensed auto transport broker, which confirms the price, books the shipment and assigns the carrier. We are not a broker or a carrier, we do not sell leads, and you pay us nothing.

What we do, and what we do not
Most car shipping websites are brokers or lead sellers that hide the price behind a form. HaulFare does one job: price information. We publish route prices, transit times, the formula behind every estimate, free tools and guides, with no email gate.
We are not a broker or a motor carrier. We hold no FMCSA authority, own no trucks, employ no drivers or dispatchers, and never negotiate transport rates or take payment for a shipment. Those are the jobs of a licensed broker and the carrier it hires.

How the referral works
When you submit the quote form, your route, vehicle and contact details go to one company: our licensed transport partner, an FMCSA-licensed auto transport broker. The broker contacts you to confirm the actual price and pickup dates, books the shipment, assigns an FMCSA-registered carrier and handles payment.
We send each request to that one broker only, and we never sell your details to lead lists or other companies. If something goes wrong with a shipment, you can also tell us at quotes@haulfare.com and we will pass your message to the broker.
You can check any broker or carrier yourself with our company verifier.
How we are paid
Our licensed transport partner pays HaulFare a referral fee under a written agreement. You pay us nothing: the estimates, tools, guides and the referral itself are free, and we never take payment for transport.
The price you pay for a shipment is agreed between you and the broker. Our published estimates come from the same model whether or not you ask for a quote, and every range on this site is labelled as a model estimate, not an offer.

Why we publish our price model
Many quote forms in this industry ask for your contact details before they show any price, and a low first number can rise once a carrier is found. We think a customer who can see how a price is built, and why it is a range, makes a better decision and is less likely to be surprised at pickup. The model, its calibration sources and its version history are on the cost page and in the data section.
HaulFare by the numbers
Every price on this site comes from one published model, refreshed each month with the national diesel average.

Who writes this site
Route guides, cost pages and articles are written and reviewed by the HaulFare Research Team (car shipping price research): the people who build the price model, check the sources and keep the monthly Cost Index current. We research prices; we do not arrange shipments. Route guides, cost pages and articles show their last-updated date and their sources. If you find an error, email quotes@haulfare.com and we will correct it and log the change.

Editorial standards and corrections
- Where the prices come from
- Every price on the site comes from one published HaulFare price model, re-run for a new monthly edition on the 1st. Prices are labelled as estimates. Cost Index rows stay "model-derived" until a lane has at least 30 shipments booked through the transport partner in 90 days.
- Sources and fact-checking
- Rules, fees and deadlines are cited to the primary source (FMCSA, state motor vehicle and transportation departments, NOAA, port operators). Figures from other companies are attributed to them. Before a page publishes, automated checks reject missing sources and prices that disagree with the model, and figures are checked against the sources they cite.
- How software and AI are used
- Software, including AI writing tools, helps draft and check pages. Figures come from the price model and cited sources, never from the writing tool, and changes to the model, prices, legal pages and the quote form are approved by a person.
- Conflicts of interest
- HaulFare receives a referral fee from its transport partner for each quote request. The fee does not change any estimate: the model and its inputs are published and are the same for every visitor. We sell no placements, rankings or reviews, and sites that link to our tools through the referral partner program are not paid either.
- Corrections
- If you find an error, email quotes@haulfare.com. We check it against the source, correct the page and move its Updated date.
